Multi Day Trip
Stand on the edge of the Bay as giant ships crash into surf and workers cut them apart in a storm of sparks, gulls wheeling overhead. The next day, skim across the emerald waters of Kaptai Lake toward island monasteries and women-run craft stalls.
In the Chittagong Hill Tracts, red-earth roads snake through bamboo forests to Marma, Mro, and Tripura villages where looms clatter softly, bamboo smoke drifts from kitchens, and someone hands you a cup of tea the moment you sit. Hike to storybook Boga Lake, a jewel of turquoise ringed by pine and bamboo, and—if you fancy—push on to the summit of Keokradong, Bangladesh’s officially recognised highest peak, for sweeping views over the border hills. Drift back down the rocky Sangu River at golden hour, when kingfishers flash blue and the hills turn molten in the low sun.
This journey wraps culture and landscape together — big scenery, small encounters, and a private pace that lets you stop, listen, and take it all in.
💡 Pro Tip: Our permit-savvy, Hill-Tracts-trained team runs this as a true private journey (1–4 guests) — no crowds, no shopping detours, just time where it matters.

Day 1 — Rails to the Frontier
21:00 pick-up → the Turna Express hums out of Dhaka at 23:15. In your 1st-class AC sleeper, the city flickers into fields, then night—an atmospheric jump-start to the southeast.
Day 2 — Port City & Steel Giants
Arrive ~05:00, freshen up, and enjoy breakfast. At the Commonwealth War Cemetery, birdsong replaces traffic and rows of headstones tell quiet stories. Later, you board a licensed boat and photograph the Ship-Breaking Yards from the Bay side—rusted hulls, tiny workers, colossal scale (all from safe, legal distances). Sunset finds you where the Karnaphuli meets the sea at Patenga. Overnight in Chittagong.
Day 3 — Into the Lake Country
Drive 75 km to Rangamati through bamboo and betel gardens. After check-in, you settle in for a long, lazy Kaptai cruise: island pagodas, stilted hamlets, and women-run Chakma craft stalls. As dusk falls, the lake turns copper—ideal for reflections and silhouettes. Overnight Rangamati.
Day 4 — Hill Roads to Bandarban
Enjoy a leisurely morning, then follow 80 km of ridgetop driving via the Tribal Cultural/Exhibition Centre, which sets the context for the people you’ll meet. In Bandarban, the Golden Temple gleams above the hills; from Nilachal viewpoint, blue-green ranges stack to the horizon. Overnight at a hillside resort.
Day 5 — Boga Lake & Optional Keokradong
Pre-dawn roll-out to Komola Bazar for permit checks and army posts. Walk through Marma/Khumi/Murong paras to jewel-like Boga Lake (~1 hr). Relax by the water, photograph village life, or swim if conditions allow — or continue the Keokradong push (10 km return; ~3 hrs up on hill paths and rocky streambeds). You drive back to Bandarban by evening, pleasantly exhausted and full of views. Overnight Bandarban.
Day 6 — Looms & the Rocky River
Start the day gently. Marma & Mro villages welcome you with clattering looms, betel nut smiles, and shy hellos — you buy direct if you wish. In the afternoon, you board a country boat on the Sangu River—Bangladesh’s only rocky river—for a mellow canyon float and a stop at a Tripura village. Sunset gilds the water and cliffs. Overnight Bandarban.
Day 7 — Market Morning & Homeward
After breakfast, you browse a tribal market alive with forest produce and handwoven textiles. Then you drive towards Cox’s Bazar (≈3 h), stop for a delightful seafood lunch, and catch the late afternoon flight to Dhaka. Private drop-off rounds off your journey.

📌 Key Notes
• Permits: CHT travel requires advance government permissions—send passport, visa & entry-stamp scans ≥2 weeks pre-start. Authorities restrict movement after sunset; your guide manages all check-posts.
• Boga/Keokradong: Security, weather, daylight and fog can alter routing. Trails stay natural with ups/downs & occasional stream crossings; you won’t have mobile signal and village facilities remain basic. You can always skip the summit and savour Boga Lake instead.
• Ship-Breaking: We use an offshore boat only for safety & compliance; shore access stays restricted.
• Roads & Trains: Expect some traffic, and allow for trains running 1–2h late.
• Accommodation: You stay in local-standard 4–5★ in major hubs, and we book the best available elsewhere; Bandarban hillside resorts/cottages involve steps.
• Cash & Connectivity: Carry some USD to convert to BDT; ATMs may reject some foreign cards. Grameenphone offers the widest coverage, though hill regions still have patchy signal.
• Pack: Passport copies, modest clothing for temples, light fleece (Dec–Feb), hiking shoes, sun hat/sunscreen, insect repellent, rain layer (Jun–Oct), daypack.
• Group Size: Max 4 for better access, flexibility & respectful village time.
🌍 Responsible Travel Pledge
🤝 Ethical, Community First Travel: We ensure fair pay for guides, drivers, boat crews, artisans, and local families. We support community-led enterprises and ethical craft traditions with dignity and respect.
🗑️ Leave No Trace: We minimise waste on every tour and take out everything we bring in. Nature and communities remain exactly as we found them—or better.
🐦 Wildlife Comes First: No baiting, no chasing, no disturbance. We avoid flash photography around animals and always respect ethical viewing distances.
🕌 Cultural Respect Always: Dress modestly in sacred spaces, behave respectfully, and ask permission before taking close-up portraits of people—especially elders, artisans, and children.
🌱 Carbon-Aware Travel: We prioritise CNG-powered and fuel-efficient vehicles whenever possible. Remaining emissions are offset through local tree-planting initiatives in Bangladesh.
Is Keokradong tough? Can I skip it?
It’s a moderate hill hike (uneven paths; ~3 hrs ascent). Yes—if you prefer, you relax at Boga Lake while others summit.
Can I photograph the Ship-Breaking Yards?
Yes—from a licensed offshore boat. Bring a 70–200mm (or longer) lens for detail; authorities don’t allow yard entry.
Are CHT permits guaranteed?
We process permits carefully, but officials issue final approvals. Book ≥2 weeks ahead and share documents promptly to maximise success.
Is this tour safe?
We follow permit rules, curfews and check-posts, travel with vetted drivers/guides, and adjust plans whenever conditions change.
Altitude sickness in CHT?
No—elevations stay low (under 1,000 m). Expect warm days and pleasantly cooler nights from December to February.
Dietary needs?
Vegetarian options come easily; we can arrange vegan/gluten-free options with notice. Village lunches stay simple but fresh.
What about Sundays & closures?
We resequence around museum/market off-days so you still experience each highlight. The Ethnological Museum opens only during its scheduled hours.
Can I extend to Cox’s Bazar or Moheshkhali?
Yes—you can easily add 2–3 days after Bandarban for extra coast time.
