Days
Bangladesh is alive with rhythm — the jingle of rickshaw bells weaving through Old Dhaka’s labyrinth of spice markets and pink palaces; the incense and chants that drift from hilltop temples at dusk; the hush of the Sundarbans’ tea-coloured creeks at dawn, broken only by the flick of a kingfisher’s wing.
Once a year, under the Kartik Purnima full moon, this rhythm crescendos. Srimangal becomes a living stage for the Manipuri Raas Festival — a sacred, all-night retelling of Radha and Krishna’s divine dance. Dazzling costumes swirl under moonlight, drums and cymbals thunder, and an entire community pours devotion into movement. It’s one of the most intimate and authentic cultural experiences left in South Asia, witnessed by only a handful of outsiders each year.
This 16-day private journey is built around that rare celebration. It threads together bustling river ports, forgotten capitals, lush tea gardens and UNESCO-protected wonders into one seamless adventure. You’ll drift down rivers on historic vessels, step inside medieval mosques and red-brick monasteries, watch artisans at work in villages that time forgot, and stand at dawn on hidden platforms as gibbons call across rainforest canopies. Every element is timed for golden-hour light, insider access and unhurried encounters, so you experience Bangladesh at its cultural, spiritual and natural peak — not just see it.
💡 Pro Tip: This departure runs only once in 2026, timed precisely for November 05, 2025 (Raas Festival night) — spaces are very limited.

Is the Raas Festival authentic?
Yes. It is a living Manipuri community ritual performed on Kartik Purnima, the full moon. The dances are devotional, passed down through generations, and not staged for tourists.
Do I need special permits?
Yes. Permits are required for both the Sundarbans and the Srimangal festival access. We handle all paperwork, permissions and logistics on your behalf.
Can I photograph the Festival?
Yes — photography is permitted but must be done respectfully. Your guide will advise you on when and where it’s appropriate, and help you access good vantage points without disturbing the ritual.
How strenuous is this tour?
Moderate. Expect early starts, walking tours of archaeological sites, some uneven terrain, and rainforest treks of 1–2 hours. No advanced trekking is required, and rest breaks are built into the itinerary.
Will I see a tiger in the Sundarbans?
Highly unlikely. The Sundarbans is home to the Bengal tiger, but sightings are sporadic. The real highlight is the unique biodiversity — spotted deer, monkeys, crocodiles, otters, wild boar and hundreds of bird species.
What is the accommodation like?
We use clean, comfortable local-standard hotels (4★–5★ category) in major hubs; best available elsewhere. In the Sundarbans, you’ll stay aboard a private houseboat with simple yet safe facilities (cabins, Western toilets, solar lights, and fresh meals).
How safe is travel in Bangladesh?
A professional, licensed guide thoroughly guides all tours and includes private transport. In the Sundarbans, an armed forest guard accompanies every cruise. We avoid political gatherings, shopping detours and crowded, risky areas.
Is the Rocket Steamer guaranteed?
No. The Rocket is a historic paddle steamer with seasonal, irregular operation. If it’s unavailable, we’ll arrange a modern ferry or luxury launch — the river journey experience remains magical.
Do I need to bring special clothing?
Light cotton clothing is best. Bring modest attire for temples, mosques and rural villages (shoulders and knees covered). A light jacket is useful for cool mornings (Nov–Feb). Comfortable walking shoes are essential.
What kind of food is included?
Breakfast daily, all meals in the Sundarbans, and some lunches (such as the Barisal boat lunch). Bangladeshi cuisine features fresh fish, chicken, vegetables and rice. Vegetarian options are available with advance notice.
